We've all gone through or shared in the darkness of troubled times, hard times, heartaches, hurts and pains. Or experienced the severity of the disparity, from the darkness behind the loss of a loved one. But have we all realized and learned life's most beautiful and precious lesson behind them?? LESSON:
God is Sovereign: He is God, even over the darkness. He is in control. He is with you all the way. He is for you (He's got your back). He wont stop loving you (nothing can separate you from His love). He has a plan for your life, plans to prosper you, not to harm you; plans to give you a hope and a future. A plan to bring balance back to your life; peace to your mind; rest to your soul. Plans to heal your hurts; restore your hope; allowing and enabling you to step into the future He has for you. Remember this my dear brother or sister: God is sovereign even over the darkness of the dark moments of your life. Part of living out our faith is knowing that all things work together for the good for those who love Him. And yes, dark times help us develop and refine our faith. These trials in our lives develop perseverance; perseverance creates character; and character will transform you and give you hope... or better said- blossom into hope.
The problem is, in the midst of our "dark times" we seem to forget the simple fact that "God is light, in Him there is no darkness at all." It's like we get caught off guard by the shadows and the darkness that lies within them. In turn, we have momentary spiritual lapses, where it feels like our heart collapses under the pressures or cares of this world. As a result, we briefly forget some elementary trues from God's Word, which are very necessary for living out our Christian faith. If we are going to successfully live out our faith we need to remember: this after all is a fallen world; the Savior told us that "in this world you will have tribulation" and if He said it, it's certain and true: you will have tribulation. But Hallelujah He didn't stop there... He went on to say "but be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world." In the midst of darkness looming, we tend to forget the simple fact that God is light, in Him there is no darkness at all! I'm not one who's big on quoting lyrics from songs, but I just heard a song that was perfectly united with this truth. The lyrics of the song, though they state the obvious of His greatness, we should consider and take heed: "You shine like a million Suns ablaze; wrapped in Eternal Light and praise, Jesus the bright and morning star"
If we're going to live out our faith, we have to know the word of God- also, we have to know the simple fact that God is light, in Him there is no darkness at all. In the midst of the storms of life, in the large billowy clouds in the overcast skies of our situations and circumstances, we have to remember the Son of God- after all, He shines like a million Suns ablaze! We have to remember that no matter how dark the darkness gets in our lives, He can and will illuminate your situation. He has power over the darkness; remember... He is God, even over the darkness! He spoke and there was light; He spoke and there was calm to the raging sea; He spoke and He calmed the restless hearts of weary sinners like me and you since the beginning of mankind. If you are going to live out your faith, and I might add living out our faith is an action, we have to stand firm on the simple fact that He is with us - and that He is sovereign, and He forecasts and allows the dark skies to roll in. Maybe in order for us to appreciate the sunlight a little more He has to; or maybe the darkness will help us learn to lean on Him and not on our own understanding; and maybe so that we will learn and know the simple fact that no matter how dark your days are looking; God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all. He is with you; He will illuminate your situation no matter how dark it is, or how dark your days are, or how dark your nights get. He spoke into the darkness and said, "Let there be light." I'm confident He will speak to your heart and bring Light to your darkness today. 4 for He is God, even over the midnight hour.226865716
